At Home Alterations { old & new | cheap & beautiful | him & her | ups & downs }

11Dec/106

Oh the weather outside is…. friggen ridiculous!

We knew we'd be getting snow today, but we were still a little surprised to open our window this morning to this:

Can we even get out?  Well, some of our doors will open, but we're not sure we want them to!  Here's the back door of our porch.

And some of our doors are open even though we don't want them to be!  We must have left this door open a crack and snow gradually floated in.

Looks like we need to shovel our porch too.  We tried to shovel but the snow is blowing so much that as soon as you finish a side walk you need to start up again.  One of our neighbors has literally been snow blowing for 4 hours, that's commitment!

We've seen countless cars stuck on our road.  We're supposed to have a Christmas Party tonight but I'm guessing a lot of people will stay in.  We hope you're staying warm wherever you are!

  1. Wow! talk about a lot of snow! hope you can get out soon… It is beautiful though:)

  2. i like to call it, snOwMG! My patio door looks like yours. I snowblowed at 11am and just came in again. Spent a good half hour trying to help a neighbor get their minivan moved off the street (unsuccessfully)

  3. 17.2 inches is the total snowfall for Minneapolis. (Nevermind–I see the horn now)

  4. Oh wow! I don't think I have ever seen snow like that! We are supposed to get 4 inches of rain in the next 24 hours though….I wish I didn't have to leave the house today.

  5. OMG I can't even imagine. That amount of snow is completely foreign to this California girl.

  6. Our official snowfall was 17.3 inches and it too HOURS to shovel our way out. Maybe it's time to buy a snow blower…
